Bike the Volcano

I've biked down the volcano many times. There's a pretty good reason for people doing this. Not only is it an exciting activity to do, you'll find it a feast for your senses.

Beginning with the view of a Maui sunrise at 10,000 feet, you are able to watch this phenomenal event happen from above the clouds. Haleakala is a dormant volcano with an enormous crater. When the sun begins to bounce the crater's shadows off of its self, your eyes are in for a treat. After the sunset, you will enjoy the rushing air against your face and body as you curve your way down to the ocean. The views along the way are incredible. You can see everything on Maui and the neighboring islands as you make your descent. Biking the Volcano is just a visually stunning experience. The smells will intoxicate you. From eucalyptus to pine and lavender fields, your senses get spun in so many directions.

If you want to do this activity, there are many different companies to go through. My favorite is the Maui Mountain Cruisers. You can get the trip at the best rate through Hawaiian Style Activities. They have agents that you can call who will answer any questions you may have. Another site that sells the bike tour is Hawaii Discount Activities. And finally, another site with information and good prices for volcano biking is the Maui Vacation Network. All three have good prices and sell almost all the different bike companies on the island. The reason it's good to do through them is because they offer discounted prices. They have negotiated the rates down in order to be competitive. Aloha!

What is Aloha? Aloha is the feeling that the Hawaiian Islands bring to you. A sense of belonging, friendship, and relaxation. The people of Hawaii embody Aloha in everything we do. This is why so many people travel to the islands... and the fact that our islands are the most beautiful places on the Earth!

This blog is for those of you that want to know more about our islands. My name is Lynn Kanaha, and I am a long time resident of Maui, Hawaii. I have 2 children and a loving husband that all enjoy exploring the endless tropical mysteries of our island. Join us!
